Information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) from the Marion County Health Department.


PUBLIC ATTENDANCE OF COUNTY COMMISSION MEETINGS BY TELECOMMUNICATION ONLY.  Pursuant to KS Governor Order 20-16, in-person attendance at the County Commission meetings will not be allowed at this time.  We encourage attendance by telecommunication which also allows public interaction.

Accounts Payable/Payroll

Bills are processed by the Clerk’s Office and paid once a month on the last working day.  The average number of checks per month is 415.  The voucher system is utilized.  All departments submit their invoices for processing, approval and payment.  All vouchers must be reviewed by the Board of County Commissioners and the County Attorney prior to distribution of checks.

Marion County employs approximately 100 fulltime and 12 part-time individuals as well as 97 volunteer EMS personnel. The Clerk’s Office processes payroll once a month on the last working day of the month.
