WHAT IS WIC?

WIC stands for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.  It’s a USDA federally funded program that provides supplemental foods and nutrition education to income-eligible pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants, and children up to five years old.

WIC provides vouchers for nutritious foods, and nutrition education to prevent or correct health problems.  Eligibility is based on annual income.

Residency:    
Must live in Kansas, and provide proof of residency

Who quallifies: 
Must be either pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum woman, infant or child up to five years old, and meet financial qualifications.
